Our website was set up for us by someone who heard about Pikkewyntjies through an organisation called forgood. He lives in Roodepoort in Gauteng and it was a wonderful day, the day the email arrived from him offering his services.
We were thrilled with the site he developed and ready to go, we thought when the problem of the hosting fee arose. How was this to be paid, especially as it was an annual fee?
Many emails of appeal were sent to members of the community, but no one was able to help. We were feeling desperate when Morne Lloyd contacted us to say Bistro 365 would sponsor our hosting fee.
You don’t have to have tried to raise a sum of money for a cause close to your heart, to appreciate how much it meant to get that call.
In paying for our website to go live, Morne was not only kind to the children of our school and very generous but one of not too many people who take time out of a busy life to say, let me stop what I am doing and give my support to this initiative.
Thanks to Morne, people can visit our website and read about our school. They can find out that the school provides Early Childhood Development for children who would otherwise not have it. It’s very hard for a child new to school to keep up without ECD and very easy for that child to become desperate and unhappy quite quickly.
Thanks to Morne and those like him, Juffrou Zaan and her onnies are sending polite, friendly well-prepared little people to school and their reports show they’re doing themselves, their teachers and their sponsors proud.
