Impact of the Closure of Bredasdorp Post Office

The Bredasdorp Post Office officially closed its doors on Monday, 10 October 2022 to relocate to their premises in High Street, Napier.

On Wednesday, 12 October 2022, the Executive Mayor Cllr Paul Swart, Deputy Mayor Cllr Raymond Ross and Municipal Manager Eben Phillips met with the District Manager of the Post Office in Cape Town. The Cape Agulhas Municipality cannot make any commitments now, but we are investigating possible options to assist. We do not know when the Post Office will be fully functional again and this does have a direct impact on various municipal services.

Municipal Accounts

In the interim, no municipal accounts can be mailed, and we would like to encourage all account holders to please register on our email database so that we can email your account every month. To update your contact details, please contact the municipality on email at accounts@capeagulhas.gov.za or call your nearest municipal office: Bredasdorp at 028 425 5500, Napier at 028 423 3231 or Struisbaai at 028 435 6538 or come and visit your nearest municipal office.

Please note that all account holders are still liable to pay their accounts irrespective if they received their accounts or not.

Traffic Notices

No traffic notices will be mailed so please check your vehicle’s license discs to know when to renew your licenses as you are still liable to renew your vehicle license irrespective if you received a notice of renewal or not. Please call the Traffic Department at 028 425 5600 to enquire about driver’s licenses after the expiry of the 6 weeks waiting period.

General

The municipality cannot receive any correspondence per mail while the Post Office are unable to render this service, so please make use of alternative methods like courier services, hand deliveries or email us at info@capeagulhas.gov.za.
