Bredasdorp Rangers overpower Bonnievale
Bredasdorp Rangers Rugby Club’s A team last week beat Bonnievale United convincingly during a friendly match held at the Glaskasteel sport complex.
The Rangers A team beat Bonnievale with a stunning 78-7 during the match which took place on Saturday, 12 February. The Rangers B team won 48-0, while the C-team drew 0-0 against their counterparts.
Sarel Pieters, chairman of Rangers, told Southern Post that had the A team been able to eliminate some of their mistakes, the score might well have been over 100.
“Especially in the first half, our pack of forwards overpowered them,” said Pieters. “They would be unbeatable” if the team could cut out small mistakes.
“With all that speed, and all that talent in the backs, we run you,” said Pieters. “You wouldn’t know where to stop us.”
Pieters said Bonnievale put up a good fight in the first half, but in the second half the Rangers simply overpowered them.
