About

Sommelier & Company was established by Esme Groenewald and Barry Scholfield, two of South Africa’s most acclaimed sommeliers, in 2022.

Esme and Barry boast the highest levels of sommelier accreditation and have an impeccable track record gained at some of the most prestigious restaurants in South Africa. 

Esme and Barry share their passion for guest experiences, world-class wines, small-batch beers, and speciality foods. 

Supporting the community and showcasing Overberg’s wine estates and microbreweries is a passion.
