Overstrand Municipality Traffic Department Re-Opens 2 June 2020

Overstrand Municipality Traffic Department's offices will re-open tomorrow, 2 June 2020.

The traffic offices in Kleinmond and Gansbaai will be open Mondays - Fridays from 08:00 - 15:30 with a lunch break between 13:00 - 13:45.

Hermanus traffic services will be open Mondays - Fridays from 08:00 - 18:00 and every Saturday during June and July from 08:00 - 13:00.

The department will work at a 50% staff capacity and residents may experience quite a queue. Overstrand Municipality, therefore, asks members of the public to be patient.

All precautions have been taken to safeguard the public. No person will be allowed to enter traffic facilities without a face mask that covers the nose and mouth. Residents will be requested to disinfect their hands and their temperature measurement, as well as personal details, will be recorded in a register as required by law.

The Municipality encourages residents to make use of electronic funds transfer (EFT) to make payment whenever possible.

Traffic Services request the public to ascertain the correct amount due by phoning them on 028 313 8175/8031/8166 (Hermanus Traffic), 028 384 8339 (Gansbaai Traffic) or 028 271 8400 (Kleinmond Traffic) before making an EFT payment.

All driver's licenses, learner's licenses, temporary driver's licenses, vehicle license disks, temporary permits, roadworthy certificates and professional driving permits that expired between 26 March 2020 and 31 May 2020, and could not be renewed due to the COVID-19 lockdown restriction, are still considered valid for 90 days from 1 June 2020.
