Now in Stock: Fluister!
Bartho Eksteen has a long history in our town, and also with our little shop.
While we wait for the go-ahead to resume trading I have been busy working on our website which should have been up at least a year ago. It is a basic website, and it isn't pretty, but it is functional with 300-odd different wines available, and it will be updated with images and more wines as we go along. Payment is secure via PayFast and the Checkout is easy, requiring just a few details.
We obviously offer free delivery within the Hermanus area, and for purchases over R1500, free shipping to major centres around South Africa. Please enquire for shipping charges to international destinations.
Please note that while you are now able to purchase online, we are unable to deliver until after the Lockdown is lifted.
Go on, have a look at our new website here.

One of the highlights of my lockdown wines was the 2019 Tesselaarsdal Chardonnay, made with fruit from the Hemel en Aarde Ridge and rated 92/100 by Tim Atkin MW.
This is winemaker Berene's description: "A particularly bright, tight and pure Chardonnay with marked elegance. Clean and lifted primary fruit character and citrus blossom introduce a long, gentle palate, very expressive but also deliciously classical and restrained. This is a graceful and age-worthy wine with an almost crystalline purity."
We have a few in stock at R271.
Thank you for your support - stay safe - see you soon!
Have you ever heard about a great wine but could never find a bottle for yourself (to share with friends, of course)? Well, the team at Wine & Company do all the hard work for you! We visit wine farms and attend tastings to find, taste, and then stock wine from the smaller Estates and independent winemakers who buy grapes and produce outstanding wine under their own labels – much the same as the French negociants have been doing for centuries. Given that these winemakers make wine in such small quantities, sometimes just a single barrel, their wine will never be found on the shelves of the major retailers, but only in specialist shops like Wine & Company on High Street, Hermanus.
In addition to the great selection of well-known wines and MCC's, we also stock local craft gin and beer, French Champagne, La Trappe Trappist Ales as well as whisky and other spirits. Wine & Company (established in 1998 by Bartho Eksteen) has a well-earned reputation for stocking hard-to-find small-batch wines and we strive to continue this great tradition. If you purchase a bottle of wine from us and it is faulty or you are not satisfied with the quality, we will gladly replace the bottle and return the faulty wine to the winemaker.
Feel free to contact Wine & Company if you need a particular wine and we will do our best to source it for you. We are also able to ship wine locally and to most countries so do ask about international shipping.
