THIS WEEK WE HAVE TWO TASTINGS!!
On Thursday afternoon (that's today...) we have 2 very talented winemakers pouring their new wines.
Chris Keet will be showing his Weather Report 'Atlas' Cab Franc.
Albert van Niekerk will be showing his Rebellie Grenache.
Please feel free to stop in to taste these fantastic new releases.
Over the weekend we will be tasting the 'Year of the Rooster' from The Drift Estate. It's a lovely Blanc de Noir from Pinotage, produced by Bruce Jack.

The Drift "Year of the Rooster": Bruce Jack says: This rose is from a tiny Pinotage vineyard planted at around 450 meters above sea level. The fruit is gently destemmed and crushed, then left in the press for the juice to absorb some of the colour of the skins. It is pressed to the tank where wild fermentation spontaneously starts, and then transferred to very old barrels. Bottled with a rough filtration. It's a wonderfully well-structured, bone-dry rose with bold red hues. The classic intriguing floral nose of nectarines and strawberries introduces a palate awash with spring blossoms and cherry, with just a hint of blackberry tannin.

The RAAR range from the Riebeek Valley Wine Co are produced to showcase the lesser-known varietals that grow in the Swartland. Only a few barrels of each are made, so they are RARE indeed! We are lucky to have the Grenache Blanc (1204 bottles produced) and Shiraz/Mourvedre (178 bottles produced) currently in stock.
