Kidscan! works closely with the Western Cape Government, Help2Read and After School Game Changer.
Each day a group of children between the ages of six and 11 from the rural communities of Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay and Hangklip, attend the Kidscan! after-school centre.
After enjoying a wholesome and nourishing lunch, dedicated staff members and volunteers assist children with their homework tasks.
Kidscan! is made up of a team of proactive and caring members of the community who believe in making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children who deserve every chance at a bright and promising future.
Kidscan! offers learners who attend the centre, two supervised areas where learners can peacefully concentrate and work on the day’s homework tasks.
There is computer access where learners are taught basic computer skills and where they can work on school projects.
The indoor play area has a lovely doll house for the girls and the outdoor playground has a jungle gym which is a big hit with all the children.
Trading Hours
The Kidscan! Charity Shop is run by a wonderful team of volunteers and sells unwanted pre-loved and new treasures that the public has donated.
Bargain hunters can visit the charity shop in the Droster Gat Centre in Pringle Bay (between The Cork and Little Amsterdam) which is a bountiful trove just waiting to be discovered.

Kidscan! supports the environment and the community, using mostly recycled paper bags and as little plastic as possible).
KidsCan! has various initiatives to raise funds and strive to be a sustainable project.
Sponsorship to hardship fund or per child: any amount is greatly appreciated.
Wish #1 - To own the house next door to the present location on 10th Avenue will mean having more classroom space for more children.
Wish #2 - To own the two adjacent plots to develop into a sports field
Wish #3 - To build three or four garages on the property to generate a rental income from small businesses.
All donations welcome (pre-loved and new)
The more people get involved, the more can be done to ensure a brighter today and tomorrow for the precious children who attend this initiative.
